How to make loads of new friends

Mon 16 Jul 2012

Hi Guys, my name is Lauren and I got involved with the Haemophilia Foundation when I started fundraising at my primary school in Grade 3. My brother was diagnosed when I was 5 and ever since that day, I’ve wanted to help, anyway I can.

When I was in primary school I organised ‘Dress Red’ days at school and when I was older, I went around to the younger grades to explain what haemophilia is by reading books to the little kids and talking to the older ones.

I have attended youth weekends away and it’s through these that I became involved in the Youth Committee and was Co-Chair and Secretary for several years. I am now a member of the Youth Working Group, which means I can stay in touch with all my friends from the community, as well as helping with the creation of this website, something we are all very proud of. I would highly recommend getting involved in your state Foundation or signing up to youth events, even becoming a member of this website. It’s a great way to keep in touch with friends, and make loads of new ones, as well as being able to share your experiences with others. You should definitely get involved in youth events; I might see you there and would love to talk to you.
